Department of Communication Studies
The graduate university programme in communication studies serves to complement and deepen the scientific and professional competences acquired during the undergraduate study programme. The specific objectives are: the acquisition of abilities and skills required for associate and managerial positions in the communications professions (journalists and editors in the media, associate or managerial positions in the departments and agencies for public relations, associate or managerial positions in departments or agencies for so-called community management, researcher positions in public opinion and market research agencies, assistant positions in research teams at universities or research institutes); acquiring knowledge necessary for independent processing of scientific issues in terms of both content and methods applied; introduction to discursive approach to issues encountered in communication sciences and learning to form independent and founded views when facing multiple scientific theories, methods and teachings; special emphasis is placed on the interdisciplinary approach through the integration of different scientific approaches; deepening the awareness of the ethical responsibility and the knowledge of social, economic and legal framework surrounding communication related activities.
