On October 1, an Agreement on Cooperation was signed between the Faculty of Croatian Studies, University of Zagreb, and the Croatian Heritage Foundation. The signing of this Agreement represents a framework for even more successful and diverse collaboration between the two institutions, which has already been of a very high standard. The Agreement outlines that the Faculty of Croatian Studies and the Croatian Heritage Foundation will foster cooperation in the following areas:
- organization and implementation of practical work and student training
- joint preparation of scientific and professional gatherings, conferences, and roundtables
- promotion and execution of scientific research and projects
- publication of joint publications, monographs, and collections of papers
- connecting the academic and scientific community with institutions dedicated to preserving the identity of Croats living outside the Republic of Croatia
- promotion of joint activities
This Agreement is of particular importance for the students of the Faculty of Croatian Studies, who will, through practical work, become acquainted with the field and scope of work of the Croatian Heritage Foundation, an institution that has tirelessly worked since 1951 to preserve the national identity of Croats abroad. On the other hand, part of the mission of the Faculty of Croatian Studies is to research and study Croatian emigration and to teach this topic within the higher education system. The Agreement on Cooperation was initiated by the Head of the Department of Demography and Croatian Diaspora, Assistant Professor Monika Komušanac and Dr. Ivan Tepeš, Phd, Deputy Director of the Croatian Heritage Foundation.
